كشفت وزارة الاتصالات والتقانة في العاصمة السورية دمشق عن موعد إطلاق المشغل الثالث للمكالمات الخليوية في سوريا "وفا تيليكوم " بشكل رسمي، مؤكدة على أهمية دور هذا المشغل في تحسين جودة الاتصالات والتغطية الخلوية والاتصال بالانترنت في البلاد.
وأشارت الوزارة في تصريحات لوسائل إعلام محلية إلى أن مشغل الخليوي الثالث "وفا تيليكوم" سيدخل الخدمة في سوريا مطلع شهر سبتمبر/ أيلول المقبل.

The Ministry of Communications and Technology in the Syrian capital, Damascus, revealed the official launch date of the third operator for cellular calls in Syria, “Wafa Telecom,” stressing the importance of this operator’s role in improving the quality of communications, cellular coverage, and Internet connectivity in the country.
The Ministry indicated in statements to local media that the third cellular operator, Wafa Telecom, will enter service in Syria at the beginning of next September.
وأشارت الوزارة في تصريحات لوسائل إعلام محلية إلى أن مشغل الخليوي الثالث "وفا تيليكوم " سيدخل الخدمة في سوريا مطلع شهر سبتمبر/ أيلول المقبل.
ونوهت إلى أنها تسعى من خلال إطلاق هذا المشغل إلى إعادة الاتصالات إلى ما كانت عليه قبل عام 2011، بالإضافة إلى إجراء تحسينات في جودة الصوت والاتصال بالانترنت.
ولفتت التقارير إلى أن شركة "وفا تيليكوم " كان من المفترض أن تدخل الخدمة منذ أكثر من عام، إلا أن الموعد جرى تأجيله عدة مرات لأسباب لم يتم ذكرها.
وكانت شركة "وفا تيليكوم " قد صرحت في وقت سابق عبر رئيس المدراء التنفيذيين في الشركة غسان سابا" أنه بالتزامن مع إطلاق المشغل رسمياً وتجريب المكالمة الأولى، سيتم تجريب تقنية الجيل الخامس 5G"، هذه التقنية التي ستكون حصرية لهذه الشركة.
وأشار "سابا" في سياق تصريحاته إلى أن الشركة مع بدء تشغيلها رسمياً ستقدم
عروض تخفيض أسعار ضخمة تصل حتى 50 بالمئة.
ونوه إلى أن المشغل الثالث سيقدم خدماته من خلال أرقام خليوية تبدأ بالرقم (091)
وعند الوصول لنسبة معينة من هذه الحزمة سيتم الانتقال إلى الأرقام التي تبدأ بـ
.(092)
ولفت إلى أن المشتركين الجدد في الشركة سيكون بإمكانهم الاحتفاظ بأرقامهم
التي يستخدمونها حالياً مع مشغلات أخرى، حيث سيكون متاحاً الانتقال للعمل مع
المشغل الثالث "وفا تيليكوم" من خلال إجراءات بسيطة.

تجدر الإشارة إلى أن التقارير المحلية كانت قد نوهت إلى أنه ليس من الواضح حتى
اللحظة فيما إذا كانت الخدمات والعروض التي سيقدمها المشغل الثالث "وفا تليلكوم"
ستكون مشابهة مع عروض شركتي الاتصالات العاملتين في سوريا حالياً "MTN"

وقد أعرب السوريون عبر مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي خلال الساعات القليلة الماضية عن
أملهم بأن لا تتماهى شركة "وفا تيليكوم " مع الشركات العاملة حالياً في سوريا من ناحية الخدمات والعروض، مطالبين بأن تكون هناك منافسة حقيقية بين شركات الاتصالات في البلاد.
