Samsun Cruise Ship
Docked In Izmir Turkey 1970
I boarded her in Antalya on the southern Mediterranean / Aegean coast destined for Istanbul.
We stopped at Marmaris, Bodrum, Ephasus as well as Izmir along the way over a five day period.
I can remember sitting up on the nose with two friends on a moonlit night cruising along with Turkish Coast to the right and Islands of Greece to the left.
A lighting storm sent flashesd across the sea in absolute silence.
This was part of a journey overland from England to India in 1970 and back in 1971.
I celebrated my 22nd birthday in Kabul Afghanistan on my way back.
Afghanistan was then in the so called good period. 1960's into the 1970's.
One thing that I remember about Afghanistan was the people were very friendly.
And there were no laws except you could not steal anything and you could not kill anyone (unless you had a good reason).
