British diplomat and inventor (1625-1695)
In addition to his political history full of activity and conspiracy, Morland was able to give an appropriate effort later to the study of mathematics and mechanics to the extent of devotion.
He invented the loudspeaker (speaking trumpet) and invented a calculator that performs the operations of addition and subtraction. He presented it to Prince Charles II, who was almost one of his victims one day.
Moreland made many improvements to fire-extinguishing equipment (Fire engines). He wrote and published a treatise on machinery that is an early description of the steam engine.
He invented leather and metal rings for pumps and mechanical (steam) machines, respectively.

American inventor and painter (1791-1872)
Morse was born in Charlestown, USA, and studied art in London. After his return, he opened a studio in Boston to focus his efforts on drawing. Morse did not show any interest in science before the age of forty-one, when his conversation with a traveler about electricity aroused his interest, and he determined to build a device to send messages by means of electric current. After efforts that lasted for six years, Morse succeeded in inventing the electric telegraph system called the Morse system, and he also invented a set of telegraphic symbols known as Morse signals.

Universities taught in Musselbrick in «Leiden» his hometown, then became a teacher at the University of Duisberg and Utrecht and then took over the chair of physics at the University of Duisburg
Muschenbrick invented the slit (a device for measuring high temperature), as well as the Leyden pot (or Leyden jar) used in the study of electrostatics.
