رأس البسيط يقع على بعد ٤٠كم عن اللاذقية ويعتبر من أجمل المشاهد الساحلية على البحر الأبيض المتوسط، خليج واسع هادىء ذو زرقة صافية ومياه نظيفة تحيط به الجبال والتلال الخضراء.سور الصين:
بدأ الامبراطور شيه هوانج ببناء برج الصين عام ٢٤٧ ق.م وتم عام ۲۲١ ق.م ، طوله ۲۷۱۰ کم علوه ١٦,٥ متراً في بعض الأماكن، عرضه يصل إلى ۱۰ ،أمتار ويوجد فيه برج للحراسة كل ٦٠ متر.
في عهد ألب أرسلان (۱۰۶۳ - ۱۰۷۲) بلغ سلطان دولة السلاجقة أوسع مداه في حلب وما حولها، وفي عهد ابنه امتدت دولة | السلاجقة من حلب إلى القدس.
أقدم مدينة
يعتبر أن أقدم مدينة في التاريخ حسب الدراسات التي قام بها علماء الآثار هي مدينة أريحا، وقــد قــدر
عدد مواطنيها ۳۰۰۰ نسمة عام ۷۸۰۰ ق.م.
