آخر الفيضانات التي تعرضت لها العاصمة التايلاندية بانكوك ، وصف بانه من أكبر وأخطر الفيضانات على هذه المدينة رغم أنها معتادة على هذه الظاهرة الطبيعية التي تتكرر سنويا ... لكن ما حدث هذه المرة أن المواطنين لم يسبق لهم مشاهدة فيضان كهذا منذ حوالي ثلاثين سنة هذا الأمر تؤكده دوائر الأرصاد الجوية في تايلاندا مع الأشارة إلى أن إرتفاع المياه في بعض أجزاء العاصمة وصل إلى ٦٠ سنتم تقريباً ، مما عرض بعض المباني للعطب ، كما تسبب بإيقاف حركة السير في معظم الشوارع الرئيسية في العاصمة .
هذا ويتوقع الخبراء إزدياد الأمر سوء سنة بعد سنة ، وذلك يعود لطبيعة الأرض التي تقوم فوقها بانكوك والتي تفور بالمياه المتسربة إلى داخلها من حركة المد البحري إضافة إلى الإنهمار الغزير للأمطار الموسمية وهذا ما أدى ويؤدي إلى إنخسافات أرضية تتزايد سنوياً أيضاً . وقدر المراقبون أن المياه قد غطت نسبة ١/٥ من العاصمة التايلاندية مما دفع الناس إلى التكيف مع هذا الواقع خاصة وأن الأمر لن ينقضي بين يوم وآخر ، وهذه الصور أفضل دليل على نمط خاص بالحياة التي بدأ يمارسها التايلانديون . إنسجاماً مع واقعهم الجديد .
