قبل ستة قرون كانت - عنبر - عاصمة ولاية راجستان و بقيت كذلك حتى أسس جاي سنغ مدينة جاي بور وجعلها العاصمة بدلا من « عنبر » ، التي تعرف اليوم باسم المملكة الهاجعة . . - المملكة النائمة - وهي تقوم على منحدرات جبل شاهق محاطة باحدى البحيرات الصافية .
عنبر التي شيدت في القرن السابع عشر هي عبارة عن قصر مغو لي ضخم لا زال يحتفظ رغم كل هذه السنوات بهالة من الجمال فيه من الوان مشرقة ومتوهجة . وتتمثل القاعة الرئيسية فيه ، والمعروفة باسم - قاعة النصر » ، بكوكبة من الواح المرمر الجميل والمرضع بالاحجار الكريمة و بأساليب فنية جميلة .
ورغم الطابع المغولي للقصر إلا أن غرفه صغيرة في معظمها توحي بالألفة والدفء .
ويضم القصر حجرة تعرف باسم « حجرة المرايا تعتبر من أجمل حجرات العالم . كما أن هناك هيكلا جديدا يقع خلف هذا القصر الكبير .
ونقل العاصمة من ، المملكة الهاجعة . لم يحول ، عنبر إلى قصر مجهول .
بل لا زال يعد قلب التاريخ في راج بوت ، ولؤلؤة ولاية راجستان بلا منازع خصوصاً وأنه قد تحول إلى مرفق أثري وسياحي هام .
