قدماك ومستقبلك
مشى نجيب في احد شوارع مدينة كبيرة وتغلب عليـه حب الاستطلاع ، فأخذ ينظر الى المشاهد المتعددة حوله وقد اعجبته البنايات الشاهقة وازدحام المارة في الشوارع والسيارات اللماعة تسير ذهابـا وايابا . ولكن لفت نظره جدار من الخشب اقيم في جانب الشارع • فاستغرب وجوده هناك فأخذ يتساءل ما عسى ان يكون وراء هذا الجدار وما هو مصدر هذا الغبار المتصاعد والازيز المتواصل . فتقدم اليه وأخذ يسترق النظر بين الألواح الخشبية ليرى ما يجري ، واذا به يرى كما ظن جماعة من الرجال هذا يعالج صخرا بآلة وذاك يرفع حملا ليضعه في سيارة شحن . كانوا يحفرون الاساس لبناية شاهقة ـ عمل هام جدا لان الاساس ، وان كنا لا نرى الحديد وسائر المواد التي نطمرها فيه ، هو.
اهم قسم من البناء ، وكلما ارتفعت البناية نحو السماء ازدادت اهمية الأساس . ليس من مهندس عاقل يشيد بناية على التراب والنفايات بل يشيدها على الصخر اذا كان يرجو لها البقاء الاستعمال واذ كان نجيب يراقب هؤلاء الفعلة في عملهم خطر بباله ما قاله له الطبيب عن قدميه لانه ، اي نجيب ، كان يشكو ألما في قدميه منذ زمن طويل ، فكانت عظامهما مشوهة ، وبسبب الضغط وسوء اصبح يعرج قليلا في مشيته . وقد شرح له الطبيب أهمية القدمين بقوله : انهما من الجسم بمثابة الأساس من البناية لان عليهما يرتكز وزن الجسم حتى انه يمكننا ان نقول ان مستقبل الانسان يتوقف على العناية التي يوجهها الى قدميه عندما يكون ولدا ينمو . ومع كل ذلك لا يتحمل قسم من جسم الانسان من الظلم وسوء الاستعمال ما تتحمله القدمان • وفوق كل ذلك نهملهما كل الاهمال
