الخطوة 5: الانتهاء من المطبوعات والشرائح .. معالجة الألوان والطباعة .. المرشد خطوة بخطوة للتصوير الفوتوغرافي
STEP 5 : FINISHING PRINTS AND SLIDES
Before presentation , your slides must be in- serted in holders ready for projection ; prints can be retouched if necessary , and mounted . Use any of the mounting techniques sug- gested for resin - coated papers on page 138 .
Spots or blemishes on color prints are retouched by methods similar to those used for black and white prints ( see p . 88 ) . Do not attempt to knife out black specks - this just reveals the three color layers .
If the mark originates with the negative , spot it on the negative itself with black opaque dye . You can then color in the resulting white mark on the print .
To retouch large marks on the print use retouching colors or colored pencils . The yellow , magenta , and cyan retouching colors should be the same make as your paper . Before use they must be diluted with a sol- ution of half water and half print stabilizer . Apply them in the same way as for black and white spotting with an almost dry brush . You can use colored pencils directly on mat surface prints . Other print surfaces should be " keyed " first by spraying them with retouching lacquer . For most small spots use gray dye , watercolor , or black retouch- ing pencil .
Slide finishing and mounting
You can make only very limited corrections to a color slide . Some selective bleaching solutions are available which reduce either the yellow , magenta , or cyan layers ( or all three ) . They are expensive to buy and , be- cause transparencies are small , can really only be used to make overall corrections .
The cheapest way to prepare your slides for projection is to cut each frame from the film and mount it in a self - adhesive card mount , such as shown above right . Glass- faced plastic holders give much better pro- tection to the film , but are more expensive .

Preparing a slide sequence
1. Hold the slide exactly as you want it to appear on the screen , and put a spot in the bottom left hand corner of the mount . Be careful not to touch the surface of the film or glass in the holder .
2. Load the slides into the pro- jector with all the spots pos- itioned at the top right , facing toward the back of the projector . Draw a line diagonally from one end of the sequence to the other across the edges of the slides . Lining up the marks on the in- dividual slides will show you if they are out of order .
