And a number of representatives boycotted the election session: among them were Messrs. Raymond Edde, Saeb Salam, Albert Mansour, Mikhael Daher

And they elected President Elias Sarkis as President

of the post-war republic.

So President Sarkis formed a government headed by Dr. Salim al-Hoss....
