١ - الاستدلال إنشاء ذهني
ان التحليل الذي قدمناه يكشف لنا عن عناصر الاستدلال ، فيما هي حقيقة الاستدلال ، وما هي مقوماته العامة .
إن طريق الكشف عن الحقائق مختلف في الأغلب عن طريق البرهنة عليها ، والاستدلال ليس له في الكشف عمل أساسي ، لأن عمله الأساسي هو الإتيان بالحجة ، والبرهان .
ولا يتم البرهان إلا بإنشاء ذهني يستبدل العقل فيه بمعطيات الحدس ، والشعور ، جملة معقولة من التصورات التي يستطيع أن يتمثلها وفقاً لقوانينه الخاصة . ومادة هذا الإنشاء الذهني هي التصور ، لأن التصور كما قال ( بروشارد ) ينوب عند العقل عن الأشياء المحسوسة فيقلبها إلى معقولات مجردة . فوظيفته الأساسية إذن أن يجعل الاستدلال ممكناً ، ولولاه لما كانت الحجة منتجة ، ولما أمكن انطباقها على الحالات الجديدة ، فالاستدلال إذن إنشاء ذهني مبني على التصورات المجردة ، لا على الإحساسات المشخصة .

1 - Inference is a mental creation
The analysis that we have presented reveals to us the elements of inference, what is the truth of inference, and what are its general components.
The way to reveal facts is mostly different from proving them, and reasoning has no basic work in revealing, because its basic job is to provide argument and proof.
Proof cannot be achieved except by creating a mind in which the mind replaces the data of intuition and feeling with a reasonable set of perceptions that it can represent in accordance with its own laws. The material of this mental construction is perception, because perception, as Brochard said, replaces tangible things with the mind and turns them into abstract intelligibles. Its basic function, then, is to make inference possible. Without it, the argument would not have been productive, and it would not have been possible to apply it to new cases. Inference, then, is a mental creation based on abstract perceptions, not on personal feelings.
