من بين مقابر مصر القديمة التي تحكي تاريخ حضارة عريقة ومجد عظيم، تبرز مقبرة الملكة نفرتاري التي تعد أحد أروع الآثار المصرية وأجملها. نفرتاري هي زوجة الملك رمسيس الثاني، أحد أشهر ملوك مصر في عصر الإمبراطورية الحديثة، والتي كانت لها مكانة خاصة في قلبه وفي حكمه. فقد بنى لها معبداً في أبو سمبل بجوار معبده، وأهداها لقب "المحبوبة التي لا مثيل لها"، وأظهر حزنه الشديد عند وفاتها
وتعتبر هذه المقبرة من أهم المعالم السياحية في مصر، ولكن زيارتها تتطلب حجزًا مسبقًا ودفع رسوم باهظة، نظرًا لحساسية اللوحات الجدارية. إلا أن من يزور هذه المقبرة يشعر بإعجاب كبير بجمالها ورونقها
تقع مقبرة نفرتاري في وادي الملكات، وهو جزء من مجمع آثار طيبة في الأقصر. تعتبر هذه المقبرة أكبر وأفخم مقابر وادي الملكات، حيث تبلغ مساحتها حوالي 520 متراً مربعاً. تتألف المقبرة من عدة غرف وممرات مزخرفة بنقوش ولوحات جدارية رائعة تصور حياة الملكة وعلاقتها بالآلهة. تظهر هذه اللوحات بألوان زاهية وأشكال دقيقة، تعكس فن المصريين القديمين في أبهى صوره. كما تحتوي المقبرة على تابوت خشبي يضم بقايا الملكة، وعدد من التماثيل والأواني والمجوهرات التي كانت تصاحب الموتى في رحلتهم إلى العالم الآخر.
تم اكتشاف مقبرة نفرتاري في عام 1904 من قبل عالم الآثار الإيطالي إرنستو شياباريللي، وتم ترميمها عدة مرات لحمايتها من التلف والسرقة.
