بعض الحروف المسمارية ومشتقاتها والحروف السينائية ومشتقاتها ( ١ )
( ۱ ) النظرية السينائية : وموداها أن النقوش التي عثر عليها فلندرز بتري ( Petrie ) سنة ١٩٠٥ في شبه جزيرة سيناء ، حيث كان للفراعنة القدماء مناجم فيروز ، تشكل حلقة وصل بين الكتابة المصرية القديمة وبين الخـط الفنيقي القديم . وهذه النظرية في الواقع تتمة للنظرية المصرية ، غير ان حلقة الصلة كانت مفقودة عند اصحاب النظرية المصرية ،

(1) The Sinaitic theory: Its basis is that the inscriptions found by Flinders Petrie in 1905 in the Sinai Peninsula, where the ancient pharaohs had turquoise mines, form a link between ancient Egyptian writing and the ancient Phoenician script. This theory is in fact a continuation of the Egyptian theory, but the link was missing among the proponents of the Egyptian theory.
