As a rule , portrait lighting for glam our is much the same as that used for full length glamour shooting . In fact , on glamour assignments you should always make some closeup por traits since a beautiful face in a large head shot often makes good maga zine cover material . It only requires changing the lens on the camera to be able to shoot the portraits .
Indoors , work with window light as much as possible and use a reflector or umbrella with a quartz light or elec
tronic flash when the window light has too many shadows . With no win dow light the reflector - unit light be comes the main light source with one light on the background and one on the hair .
Outdoors , work in shade and use the reflector to lighten the shadows and kick light into the eyes . Some time the reflector must be placed in the sun while the model is in the shade .
CANDLES plus a common hand flashlight gave sufficient light for this pleasing glamour portrait proving that modern films have sufficient speed and latitude to do good work with a minimum of equipment . Camera and lighting no long er need to be cumbersome and over powering for on location assignments .
