تحت رعاية كريمة من سمو الشيخ حمدان بن محمد بن راشد آل مكتوم ولي عهد دبي رئيس المجلس التنفيذي، وبتنظيم من "جائزة حمدان بن محمد بن راشد آل مكتوم الدولية للتصوير الضوئي " انطلقت فعاليات "معرض دبي للصورة" في مارس ٢٠١٦.
يعد "معرض دبي للصورة" حدثاً فنياً من الطراز العالمي قدم رؤية متفردة حول التصوير الفوتوغرافي وخلق مساحات للحوار الفكري والثقافي الراقي حول هذا الفن المتميّز في مختلف الثقافات من جميع أنحاء العام، حيث تلاشت فيه الحدود القائمة بين الشكل والأسلوب الفني والمناطق الجغرافية فبرزت صور التبادل والتعاون الثقافي التي حددت بدورها ملامح رؤية عالمية حول التصوير الفوتوغرافي، وكل ذلك بين أحضان موقع واحد وفي مناسبة واحدة وقد أزاح هذا المعرض العالمي النقاب عن إبداعات فوتوغرافية على غرار أعمال المتاحف العظيمة تعود جذورها إلى القرنين العشرين والحادي والعشرين، ما جعل من حفل افتتاحه حدثاً فريداً ومنصة عرضه منبراً عالمياً. وانضم إلى هذا المعرض ١٩ مقيماً فنياً وبرفقتهم أعمال فوتوغرافية من ٢٣ دولة يتم عرضها ضمن تجربة مرئية عنوانها التناغم والتنوع في عالم التصوير الفوتوغرافي.

تأسس "معرض دبي للصورة من قبل "جائزة حمدان بن محمد بن راشد آل مكتوم الدولية للتصوير الضوئي بهدف تعزيز موقع دبي على خارطة التصوير الدولية باعتبارها ميداناً بارزاً يجمع بين فنون التصوير العالمي والمحلي مع ترسيخ الإتقان التصويري عبر برامج تعليمية وفعاليات وورش عمل متخصصة. وشكل "معرض دبي للصورة ٢٠١٦ "، بدعم من "منظمة التصوير العالمية، حدثاً ثقافياً جديداً ضمن أجندة فعاليات الفنون العالمية متبنياً شعار رفع مستوى التقدير العالمي لصناعة التصوير وخلق حوار فني بناء في المنطقة.
افتتح "معرض دبي للصورة أبوابه للجمهور خلال الفترة ١٦-١٩ مارس ٢٠١٦ على هامش فعاليات "موسم دبي الفني، وتم تنظيمه في متحف مؤقت بني لهذا الغرض في حي دبي للتصميم" (d3) . وقدم هذا المعرض المتميز مجموعة من أروع الأعمال الفوتوغرافية تحمل توقيع عدد من أعظم المصورين الحاليين، بجانب تشكيلة من الروائع الفوتوغرافية لأساتذة التصوير في القرن العشرين تعزيزاً لرؤية دبي الرامية إلى جعل إمارة دبي مدينة ثقافية متصلة بالعالم ونابضة بالإبداع، وتماشياً مع أهداف خطة دبي ٢٠٢١ وإكسبو ٢٠٢٠ دبي.
Under the generous patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council, and organized by the “Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum International Photography Award”, the activities of the “Dubai Photo Exhibition” were launched in March 2016.
The “Dubai Photo Exhibition” is a world-class artistic event that presented a unique vision about photography and created spaces for sophisticated intellectual and cultural dialogue about this distinguished art in various cultures from all over the year, in which the existing boundaries between form, artistic style, and geographical regions disappeared, and images of exchange and cooperation emerged. Cultural, which in turn defined the features of a global vision of photography, all within the arms of one site and on one occasion. This global exhibition unveiled photographic creations similar to the works of great museums whose roots go back to the twentieth and twenty-first centuries, which made its opening ceremony a unique event and platform. Present it on a global platform. 19 artistic residents joined this exhibition, accompanied by photographic works from 23 countries, which are displayed within a visual experience entitled Harmony and Diversity in the World of Photography.

The Dubai Photo Exhibition was established by the Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum International Photography Award with the aim of strengthening Dubai’s position on the international photography map as a prominent field that combines the arts of international and local photography while consolidating photographic mastery through educational programmes, events and specialized workshops. The Dubai Photo Fair 2016, with the support of the World Photography Organization, constituted a new cultural event on the agenda of international arts events, adopting the slogan of raising the level of global appreciation for the photography industry and creating constructive artistic dialogue in the region.
The “Dubai Photo Exhibition” opened its doors to the public during the period 16-19 March 2016 on the sidelines of the “Dubai Art Season” activities, and was organized in a temporary museum built for this purpose in the Dubai Design District (d3). This distinguished exhibition presented a collection of the most wonderful photographic works bearing the signature of A number of the greatest current photographers, in addition to a collection of photographic masterpieces by masters of photography in the twentieth century, in support of Dubai’s vision aimed at making the Emirate of Dubai a cultural city connected to the world and vibrant with creativity, and in line with the objectives of the Dubai Plan 2021 and Expo 2020 Dubai.
