Speech by His Excellency the Secretary General of the Award: Ali Khalifa bin Thalith, Secretary General of the Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum International Photography Award
الأعزاء المنتمون لمملكة الفنون البصرية
نحن في جائزة حمدان بن محمد بن راشد آل مكتوم الدولية للتصوير الضوئي، نعمل وفق رؤية سمو ولي عهد دبي راعي الجائزة، حاملين على عاتقنا مهمة نشر ثقافة التصوير الضوئي وإعادة تشكيل الإطار الحقيقي للصورة بأسلوب يعزّز الجانب المعرفي والفكري والحضاري فيها ويعيد تعريف توظيفها لخدمة الأهداف الإنسانية السامية والنبيلة، والارتقاء بالذوق البصري العام الذي يعتبر الجمال كمنظر وجوهر أسلوب حياة يغرض نفسه من واقع الفطرة البشرية النقية.
معرض دبي للصورة يأخذنا في رحلة حول روائع التصوير العالمية التي انتقاها ۱۹ مقيماً فنياً مرموقاً من ٢٣ دولة، ليتحفونا بأكثر من ٧٠٠ عمل فوتوغرافي أخاذ يحملون توقيع أكثر من ١٢٠ مصوراً من أبرز المصورين الذين طوعوا عدساتهم لإنتاج صور حفرت على جدران التاريخ سيقف الزائرون على مراحل تطور التصوير الفوتوغرافي منذ بداياته الأولى وصولاً إلى الحالة المعاصرة، ليكونوا شاهدين على نتائج تلاعب خطوط الزمن بنوعية المزيج الفني الفريد لأطروحات البشر وتعبيراتهم وتفاعلاتهم مع الحياة من خلال الكاميرا.
لقد لعبت الجائزة دورها بنجاح وحرفيّة في تعزيز حضور دبي الفني والثقافي خلال الأعوام الخمسة الماضية، واستطاعت صناعة فارق ملموس في مجتمعات المصورين إقليميًا ودوليًا، كما برعت في تصدير الصورة المثلى لدبي ولدولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة إلى أرجاء العالم، ونحن نسعى من خلال هذا الحدث وأمثاله لتأسيس قاعدة إبداعية صلبة في دبي لتؤدي دورها في التطوير النوعي للمصور الإماراتي من خلال احتكاكه المباشر بخيرة الخبرات والمواهب والأعمال العالمية. هذا الحدث النخبوي الفخم وأمثاله يفتحون أمام العدسة الإماراتية مساحات مرضعة بالفرص تهديهم الأدوات المعرفية والمهارية اللازمة لخوض غمار فنون التصوير الضوئي بقدرات تنافسية عالية.
Dear members of the Kingdom of Visual Arts
We, at the Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum International Photography Award, work in accordance with the vision of His Highness the Crown Prince of Dubai, patron of the award, bearing the task of spreading the culture of photography and reshaping the true framework of the image in a way that enhances the cognitive, intellectual and cultural aspect of it and redefines its use to serve humanitarian goals. The sublime and noble, and the advancement of the general visual taste that considers beauty as a view and the essence of a way of life that aims itself from the reality of pure human nature.
The Dubai Photo Exhibition takes us on a journey around the masterpieces of international photography selected by 19 distinguished artistic curators from 23 countries, to present us with more than 700 breathtaking photographic works signed by more than 120 of the most prominent photographers who volunteered their lenses to produce images engraved on the walls of history. Visitors will see the stages of development. Photography from its very beginnings up to the contemporary state, to bear witness to the results of the manipulation of the lines of time with the quality of the unique artistic mixture of human beings’ theses, expressions, and interactions with life through the camera.
The award has played its role successfully and professionally in enhancing Dubai’s artistic and cultural presence over the past five years, and has been able to make a tangible difference in the photographer communities regionally and internationally. It has also excelled in exporting the ideal image of Dubai and the United Arab Emirates to all parts of the world, and we seek through this event and others like it to establish A solid creative base in Dubai to play its role in the qualitative development of the Emirati photographer through his direct contact with the best experiences, talents and international works. This luxurious, elite event and others like it open spaces full of opportunities before the Emirati lens, providing them with the knowledge and skill tools necessary to enter the field of photography arts with highly competitive capabilities.
