Scottish engineer and inventor (1736-1819)
James Watt was born in Greenock to a father who was engaged in commerce without success. Friendship Watt was apprenticed to a tool-maker in London and returned to Glasgow to work at his trade. The relationship that he established with the physicist Joseph Black, the latent heat discoverer, had a significant impact on directing Watt to pay attention to the energy that could be utilized from steam as a driving force, and after he conducted some experiments, a Newcomen steam engine fell into his hands. Newcomen, as a result, invented a separate condenser and introduced a number of improvements to the steam engine, such as the air pump, the governor, a parcel ruler, a cover for the steam cylinder, and a steam indicator, which made the steam engine a successful commercial machine.

Watt obtained a number of patents, including the movement known as the sun, the follower Sun-and-planet, the base of expansion, the double engine, and the parallel movement, and all of these inventions are included in the steam engines. Watt claimed himself to have discovered the composition of water before Cavendish or at the same time.
The unit of electric power is called the watt and the unit of electrical energy is the watt-hour.
Watt, in partnership with Bolton, founded an engineering company, Soho Engineering Works. The two partners introduced the term horsepower.

English doctor, electrician and inventor (1715-1787)
Watson worked as a pharmacist in London, and was fond of electrical experiments. Perhaps he was the first to study the passage of electric current in rarefied gas and noticed the increase in electrical conductivity resulting from rarefaction, but he did not have an effective air vacuum to obtain high rarefaction · Watson won the Copley Medal for his important achievements in electricity.
