Light painting, or light drawing is a technique of photography that uses long exposure photography and image content is a moving light using a hand-held light source or other sources, and then creating dramatic and artistic forms during the capture time.

Light painting, or light drawing is used for scientific and technical purposes as well as for commercial and marketing photography. The technique has inspired photographers to present creative and exciting art that results from taking a long exposure photograph.
In 1949, Picasso saw images of ice skaters with lights attached to their shutters. He took pictures in the air with a small lamp in a dark room and took pictures of them.
These images became known as Picasso’s “light drawings.”
