جبال ماتيرهورن ، هي إحدى المعالم السويسرية ، وواحدة من أكثر ما تم تصويره وتسلقه والأكثر جمالا وشهرة في العالم ، لا يبدو سجل الأعمال التي يحققها متسلق الجبال مكتملا إلا حين يستطيع قهر هذه الجبال الضخمة . ولا
شيء يستطيع وقف سيل المتسلقين هناك رغم أن الماتيرهورن مسؤولة عن ٥٠٠ ضحية تقريباً منذ تم تسلقها لأول مرة في ١٤ حزيران - يوليو » عام ١٨٦٥
هذا الجبل الواقع على مقربة من زيرمات في الكانتون السويسري فاليز ، والبالغ إرتفاعه ٤٤٧٨ متراً يستقبل على قمته عدداً من المتسلقين يصل إلى ١٢٠ يومياً عندما تكون الأحوال الجوية نموذجية .
وقد شجع الماتيرهورن دائماً على استقطاب نشاطات غیر تقليدية من هنا خطرت للصحافيين السويسرين اليزابيث هان ورودي رور فكرة تشييد أكبر كاميرا في العالم ، ووضعها على هذا المعلم السياحي ، بحيث يمكن للمتسلقين ان ياخذوا صوراً تذكارية لانفسهم عندما يقهرون تلك القمة الكبيرة .
كانت النتيجة انه في هذا الصيف تم وضع نسخة من كاميرا نيكون ( F3 ) .
هذه الكاميرا المصنوعة من خشب معاكس عازل للماء تحتوي على نيكون مع مقصورة ٢٥٠ إطار
وعدسات ۱۸ ملم .
وهناك سخان يعمل على غاز البيوتين ، وخلايا شمسية للمحافظة على البطاريات مشحونة ، وكوات تهوية للسخان لا يدخلها الماء ، وزجاج مقوی يتسخن بعمل الحساس في حال سقوط الثلج ، ووحدة فلاش جاهزة على الدوام . حيث تعمل هذه جميعها على إتمام الجهاز الاوتوماتيكي كلياً .
يقف المتسلقون بمكان مشار اليه في مواجهة اللقطة الكبيرة ( Big Shot ) كما يطلق على كاميرا ال ۱۰۰ کلغ تلك ، ويكبسون زراً على عداد رقمي يحتويه الجهاز ، فيقراون رقم صورتهم الشخصية وسوف ترسل لهم الصورة الملونة التي التقطتها الكاميرا بعد ذلك بأيام معدودة ، حيث يقوم مكتب السياحة في زيرمات بهذه التدابير دون مقابل .
ادت هذه الكاميرا العملاقة التي مولها مكتب السياحة الى زيرمات وفرع نيكون في سويسرا الى تقدم الهواة الأكثر تحفظاً ببعض الإحتجاجات القائلة ان الكاميرا عرضت الكثيرين للموت بعد سباقهم إلى الماتيرهورن نتيجة للدعاية التي حصلت عليها الكاميرا في جميع الصحف السويسرية ، بناء عليه ، وافقت كل الأطراف المعنية بالمشروع على ازالة هذه الكاميرا رغم النجاح الذي حققته مع المتسلقين من جميع انحاء العالم⏹

The Matterhorn Mountains, is one of the Swiss landmarks, and one of the most photographed, climbed, most beautiful and famous in the world. The track record of a mountain climber does not seem complete until he can conquer these huge mountains. no
Something that can stem the torrent of climbers out there though
The Matterhorn has been responsible for nearly 500 casualties since it was first climbed on the 14th of July, 1865.
This mountain located near Zermatt in the Swiss canton Valais, with a height of 4478 meters, receives a number of climbers up to 120 per day when the weather conditions are typical.
The Matterhorn has always encouraged the attraction of unconventional activities. From here, Swiss journalists Elizabeth Hahn and Rudi Rohr came up with the idea of constructing the largest camera in the world, and placing it on this tourist attraction, so that climbers could take memorial photos of themselves when they conquered that big summit.
The result was that this summer a copy of the Nikon camera (F3) was developed.
Made of waterproof plywood, this Nikon camera comes with a 250 frame camera
And 18 mm lenses.
There is a heater that works on biotin gas, solar cells to keep the batteries charged, ventilation louvers for the heater that water does not enter, reinforced glass that gets heated by the sensor in case of snowfall, and a flash unit that is always ready. All of these work to complete the fully automatic device.
The climbers stand in a place indicated in front of the Big Shot, as the 100 kg camera is called, and press a button on a digital counter contained in the device, and they read the number of their personal photo, and the color photo taken by the camera will be sent to them a few days later. Tourism in Zermatt with these measures is free of charge.
This gigantic camera, funded by the Zermatt Tourist Office and the Nikon branch in Switzerland, has led the most conservative amateurs to protest that the camera has put too many people to death after their race to the Matterhorn as a result of the publicity the camera has received in all Swiss newspapers. Accordingly, all parties involved have agreed to the project. To remove this camera despite the success it has had with climbers from all over the world⏹
